Concept Plans
We will review your preliminary concept plans from front door to back, making sure all elements are carefully considered in conjunction with who you are and how you will use your home.
By reviewing and addressing these things now, you could potentially save tens of thousands of dollars in avoided "variation" costs, as there are less involved parties, therefore less cost to you if larger changes are necessary.
Council Plans
We will ensure elevations are cohesive and more detailed exterior elements are considered prior to council submission.
Obtaining permits is huge, and you cannot change the design once it has the stamp of approval from your relevant council, without resubmitting plans for approval again (aka, more time, more fees, and often more stress).
Let's do it right the first time.
Construction Plans
Lighting layouts, window and door schedules, floor finishes, integration. Smaller things can change without issue (internal door types, swing directions, window material, for example)
Bigger things can still change, but it will be more difficult. Depending on what stage you are up to there are a number of parties involved in your plans now, and variation costs may be charged if we adjust the plans.
Change is best from the beginning, but it is never too late! A few thousand spent now can potentially save you tens of thousands later.
Boost+
Charged per hour (time estimate to be calculated prior to commencement), because sometimes, all you need is a little boost.
From an informal review of your own sketches, to a few extra layout adjustment options, this service is somewhat open ended and can be tailored to suit your exact need.

Hi there!
My name is Catherine, and I am an experienced Interior and Building Designer.
Working creatively with you, and alleviating any stress or concern associated with this beautiful industry, so you have the confidence to achieve your desired goal is absolutely WHY I do what I do.
There is nothing I dislike more than hearing from family, friends, prospective clients, that they are either worried to start, or stressed about, a current project. I totally get it. It can be alot.
There are two main concerns I hear from clients:
- They have received floor plans for review from their designer, but it's all words and lines and they have no idea what they are looking at.
- They want to ensure they make the most out of their investment (their homes!), but are time poor, so equally concerned they will rush the review process and/or miss the bigger picture.
Combine these concerns with often time sensitive documentation, it's a recipe for disaster, and the panic "yep, good enough, just do it" can creep up.
This is where I come in.
A professional in your corner, with over a decade of experience.
I will review on your behalf and provide feedback, on any or all plans you receive from your builder or designer, and show you where I think adjustments can be made to elevate your Haven.

Some recent work
Boronia Bathroom/Laundry Reno
Clients needed to update their bathroom and laundry, with the intention of combining the rooms to create one wet space.
By amending the layout and combining the vanity and laundry trough, they were able to install the washing machine under the new vanity bench and a bidet opposite the toilet! Tres chic.
Storage space was not lost by installing a medicine cabinet, and shelving.
Fresh bright tiles with warm undertones compliment the new timber counter top and existing timber floor in the adjoining hall, ensuring this new space connects seamlessly to the existing.
Lilydale Bedroom Adjustments
By adjusting an internal wall and door, we were able to maximise usable bedroom space.
There was also opportunity to add additional doorways and walls to a previously underutilised room and create walk in robes for 2 existing bedrooms.

We are based in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria.
However, as our business is online, we can review plans from anywhere in Australia.
Every project is different.
After an initial chat to first understand your desires and current stage of works, we will tailor a solution to suit your specific needs.
During our initial chat I will ask you a series of questions to better understand you, your family, your home, and how you live in it.
You will then need to submit specific documents depending on which design stage you are at.
I will always need a full set of preliminary plans, however sometimes reports and plans from external consultants are required too.
The process can vary depending on the complexity and size of the home. A preliminary plan review might take anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks.
It is important for you to submit a full and current set of plans to ensure there are no delays.
This can be assessed on a case by case basis and can be incorporated into a service proposal for you.
Generally speaking site visits are not required for our plan review service, however we appreciate an in-house chat can often be invaluable.
